Creative Writing Major students systematically study the theory of literature and writing in relation to the body of world literature. The Major's goal is the training of future professional writers proficient in the various genres of literature. The course program stresses on teaching a variety of writing genres, from classics to modern literature, the acquisition of essential writing techniques for aspiring writers and the enhancement of writing abilities of advanced students. Graduates of this Major have worked in various commercial career positions, such as broadcasting writers, copywriters, critics, editors, publishers, reporters of newspapers, journalists, as well as poets, fiction writers, essayists and playwrights.
