The Economics Major is devoted to the study of economic phenomena deriving from diverse social and economic topics. The Major enables students to correctly understand contemporary social conflicts and economic problems and to ultimately contribute toward the realization of economic justice in the society so as to improve economic welfare. The Major was established in 1980 as the Department of Economics but it was merged into the Division of Economics in 1997. For more than twenty years, the Economics Major has provided students with an understanding of modern economic theory and principles fostering their capability of analyzing contemporary economic issues so that they can make contribution to economic development of Korea.
